One of the latest trends in alcohol is pink prosecco! Pink prosecco has only been about since 2020 and the UK is the largest market in the world for it.
Pink fizz has been a long time coming, due to very strict regulations in Italy that define which sparkling wines can be categorised as prosecco. A bottle can only be categorised as pink prosecco when it is made in a particular way from grapes grown in a small area of Northern Italy. Once these measures have been met, only then can it be exported and sold as such in the UK.
In terms of taste, pink prosecco is very similar to regular prosecco. Vibrant, bubbly and fresh but with the blush pink colour added comes a floral and fruity flavour. Like classic prosecco, pink prosecco is perfect to have as an alcoholic drink before a meal or for some perhaps a few glasses at a party which goes down just as well.
